Begin your Under a Wild Sky experience with a relaxed guided walk to a scenic overlook on Maytag Ranch. This leisurely stroll follows gentle terrain and rewards guests with beautiful views of the ranch and the Front Range. Your guide will share details on the flora, fauna, and history of the ranch. After the walk the group will continue directly to the Under a Wild Sky celebration. This experience is suitable for most guests and transitions seamlessly into the evening festivities.

Hike 2 : 9am Morning of Event | August 29, 2026

Moderate to Strenuous | 1.25 miles round trip

300+ feet of elevation gain

Enjoy a guided hike at Maytag Ranch across DLC conserved lands rarely open to the public. Following a wash out trail, you’ll climb steadily through rocky, wooded terrain to a rock outcropping with sweeping views of the surrounding foothills. Although relatively short, this hike gains 300+ feet of elevation in less than a mile, making for a sustained climb. Participants should be comfortable hiking on uneven terrain and maintaining a steady pace uphill. This hike is not recommended for beginners. After the hike, guests will have plenty of time to head home, shower and return for the evening’s Under a Wild Sky celebration.

Hike 3: 9am Morning of Event | August 29, 2026

Strenuous | Approximately 2 miles round trip

Almost 500 feet of elevation gain | Rock scrambling required

For those looking to push to the summit for one of the most spectacular viewpoints on the property this group will climb steadily through rocky, wooded terrain and continue the final ascent that includes steep grades, loose rock, and hands-on scrambling as you work your way to the top. Participants should be comfortable with sustained climbing, uneven footing, as you work your way to the top. If you are uncertain about your ability to complete a strenuous hike with scrambling, we encourage you to choose one of the other experiences. The reward is extraordinary, 360-degree views across Maytag Ranch and neighboring lands that few visitors ever have the opportunity to experience. Guests will return with time to head home, clean up and return later in the afternoon for an unforgettable evening under a wild sky.
