OUR IMPACT, IN MEMORY OF MAX
Sean Plumb is a committed community member and a board member of many local organizations including the Applewood Community Foundation. After the tragic passing of his son, Max, in September 2020, Sean and the Plumb family wanted to help other families avoid the heartache of losing someone to addiction and to make a lasting impact in their community.
The Max Plumb Memorial Golf Tournament is an ongoing tribute to Max hosted by the Applewood Community Foundation (ACF) that reinforces the mission to build up the local community, support kids and schools and continue to develop stronger neighborhoods and households.
The 2024 event is the Foundation's 4th annual Max Plumb Memorial Golf Tournament.
To date, the ACF has contributed more than $60,000 to Jefferson Center for Mental Health by establishing the "Max Plumb Scholarship Fund." This funding honors Max’s memory in a profoundly meaningful way by providing direct support to the clients of Jefferson Center’s Residential Recovery Program.
Last year ACF partnered with the Rolling Hills Foundation to raise $85,000 on Colorado Gives Day for Jefferson Center for Mental Health, exceeding its goal by using our contribution as a match.
The ACF was also awarded The Community Mental Health Champion by the JCMH.
In 2024, the Applewood Business Association Awards Banquet will include the John Litz Community Impact Award being presented to JCMH. The community partnerships between the ACF, the RHF and JCMH are continuing to make a difference right here in our backyard.
