All Roads, Boulder County’s premier homeless services organization, announces Chefs at the Shelter, a new collaboration with a dozen Boulder chefs and restaurants. Beginning April 13, local culinary leaders will step into the All Roads kitchen to prepare fresh, nourishing meals for up to 160 overnight clients utilizing the shelter’s services.

Participating restaurants and culinary partners include:

Blackbelly

The Buff

Café Aion

Centro

Chautauqua Dining Hall

Escoffier School of Culinary Arts

Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar

River & Woods

The Post

The Sink

T/aco

West End Tavern

“Chefs at the Shelter is more than just a dinner service – it reflects a core belief that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion and respect,” said Michael Block, CEO of All Roads. “We are honored to partner with Alpine Bank on this initiative and are grateful to the dozen chefs and restaurants who have joined us for this innovative program.”

For one night each month, a guest chef will step into the shelter’s kitchen with the same parameters the All Roads kitchen staff and volunteers work with every day. Because roughly 90% of the shelter’s food is donated, chefs won’t know the ingredients until they arrive – creating a mission-driven culinary challenge in the spirit of the popular cooking show Chopped.

While the dinners are not open to the public, the program is designed to highlight how individuals, businesses and organizations can support All Roads’ mission to help people exit homelessness permanently.

Each Chef at the Shelter evening also offers sponsorship opportunities of $1,000, helping cover the cost of meals and shelter services for guests.
